Founder and President of Conflict Arts International Martin Kessler Martin Kessler began his martial arts training under his father in 1982 at the age of 3. His early training was in Boxing and Karate, and when he was a little older his father opened Kessler’s Martial Arts Academy where Mr. Kessler earned a black belt in Taekwondo and began instructing others. He boxed out of his father’s school in Pennsylvania for several years, a sport which he continues to engage in whenever the opportunity presents itself. From the age of 17 Mr. Kessler went on to study under highly qualified instructors across the country in various other martial arts. He benefited from intensive training in Shaolin Long Fist Kung Fu and Baguazhang under Grand Master Marc Black for over four years, and then later, under Grand Master Yang Jwing-Ming’s school in Boston, he began his studies of Chin Na, the art of “seizing and controlling.” He spent seven months in Texas at the Austin School for the Chinese Martial Arts, studying Wu Shu and Shaolin Kung Fu under Master David Scott Jr., before moving to Iowa City, IA, in 2004, where he spent three years studing Capoeira Angola and teaching Gymnastics and Parkour at the Iowa GymNest until 2008 when he moved to Deleware and began running the Mobile Superhero Academy. Having obtained a certification in Conflict Resolution with the Pittsburgh Mediation Center, a coaching certification from the the state of Iowa, a safety certification and a hands on teaching certification from the United States Gymnastics Association, a nutritional consultant's certification with the National Association of Certified Nutritional Health Professionals, as well as a hypnosis certification from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, Martin Kessler currently works as the primary facilitator and instructor for Conflict Arts International here on the East Coast, as well as head instructor at the new Super World Training Center located just outside of Pittsburgh at 1 Willow Way, Oakdale, PA. Affliated Instructors of Physical Conflict Arts Professor Grilo Professor Grilo has been studying capoeira for the past 8 yrs under the supervision of Mestre Doutor of ASCAB capoeira. He teaches a capoeira class on Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm at the Claymont Community Center, which is located at 3301 Green St, Claymont, Delaware. The Genbukan Bansenshukai The Genbukan Bansenshukai teaches traditional Ninpo and Jujutsu on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It is located on Kirkwood Highway in Newark, Delaware. They accept students 12 and older. The dojo is located about 10 minutes from I-95 at 27 Slbe Drive (Suite E), Newark, Delaware.
